Foot Biomechanics & Orthotics

“Foot biomechanics” studies the foot movements during walking, running and sport, and the affects of these movements on our Bodies

Foot problems can occur because of abnormal biomechanical function of the feet during Gait. Orthotics help rebalance your feet, reducing pain and discomfort by enhancing your body’s natural movements.

  • Your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body.
  • The structure of your feet support your entire weight.
  • When a problem develops in your feet, the subtle change in the way you walk, will cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics.
  • These changes can put stress on joints higher in your body and lead to more serious problems.

Orthotics

Orthotics help rebalance your feet, reducing pain and discomfort by enhancing your body’s natural movements.

Gait is the way we walk

GAIT Analysis is performed using TOG Gaitscan equipment, which is a diagnostic tool to provide assessment and diagnosis of foot biomechanics.

Orthotics can be used to treat biomechanical imbalances in feet by helping restore the normal balance and alignment of your body and help bring relief from fatigue and pain.

Symptoms of faulty foot mechanics may lead to or exacerbate:

  • Knee Pain
  • Leg Pain
  • Hip Pain
  • Back Pain
  • Bunions
  • Heel Pain
  • Arch Pain
  • Calluses
  • Flat Feet
  • Localised Foot Pain
